The city itself is picturesque but the surrounding countryside is the real highlight with rolling vineyards giving way to towering snow capped Andes mountains on the horizon.
The numerous wineries are almost all open for tastings (a few by appointment only – speak to our concierge) and some of them also have superb restaurants offering gourmet lunches with spectacular views. As well as wine tasting this is the perfect destination for outdoor activities and, among others, guided treks, horse riding, mountain biking, white water rafting and fly fishing are all easily organised here.
