“There’s no place like home” is not a sentiment we usually sign up to, but in the case of this trendy Buenos Aires boutique hotel we are willing to make an exception. Located in the trendy Palermo Hollywood surrounded by some of the city’s best in-the-know restaurants, bars and shopping, the boutique Home hotel was the one of the first of its kind in the area and firmly accomplishes its goal of feeling like a true home-away-from-home.

The guestrooms are bright with plenty of sunlight thanks to many windows and either look over the delightful garden or onto the leafy streets of Palermo. Like a carefully curated time capsule, they have bold touches, such as 1950s patterned wallpaper and retro egg chairs, together with all the typical comforts you would expect from a modern design hotel.

One of the reasons Home has always been a Dehouche favourite is the gorgeous gardens filled with native trees and jasmine flowers and (a rarity in BA) an outdoor pool complete with loungers and deck chairs – the perfect place to kick back after a day’s sightseeing. At the heart of the hotel is the bar & restaurant, where the mood is casual but lively and the food and cocktails fresh, plentiful and unpretentious.

The hotel also features a small but perfectly formed spa offering a range of massage, body and facial therapies, as well as a dry sauna.

Home’s hospitality philosophy also prioritises sustainability and community initiatives such as reusable dispensers for the bathroom amenities, no single use plastics, solar panels, and also donates towels, sheets, and slippers to local charities.

Great location in Palermo Hollywood (one of our favourite restaurants Tegui is just a block away, and fabulous late-night speakeasy Frank’s Bar just two blocks)
The lush garden really is an oasis of peace in this buzzing metropolis
For a truly special stay, splash out on the Garden Suite with a private entrance, a rooftop terrace, its own shallow pool and immaculately curated midcentury designer furniture

Cons

The pool is only open from October to March, although you won’t miss it in the Buenos Aires winter (even though the garden is still lovely to sit out in and enjoy a drink all year round).
The standard rooms are on the small side, we usually recommend booking the Superior category and above.
