Christmas at Machu Picchu
I just wanted to email to let you know that we loved our trip to Peru and had a wonderful experience. The guide and driver in Cusco, Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu were fabulous. Deybi, our guide, was so enthusiastic, informative, courteous, and really great with our son. He provided excellent historical context but also explained some of modern Peru’s social and cultural mores which was equally fascinating. Our driver, Walter, was also excellent. So kind, an excellent driver, I never felt anxious about his driving, he clearly put safety first. I will send you pictures of the beautiful picnic lunch we had on Christmas day!
The KM 104 hike was just right. Deybi paced it perfectly and we arrived in Machu Picchu while it was completely empty except for the llamas. Amazing! We arrived to Machu Picchu, mist, llamas, birds…unbelievable!
Everything went off without a hitch. Thank you again for a great experience. Our guides and drivers were so great! Patient, considerate, kind. Really lovely with our shy and taciturn 11 year old son.
