Despite being a capital city, Quito has a wonderfully laid-back atmosphere with relaxed and friendly residents. Perhaps the main highlight is the beautiful colonial old town which is a delight to explore with grand churches and medieval-style courtyards.

The more historic areas are complimented by the more modern ones with an array of great restaurants and interesting museums.
