A true labour of love, Villa Beluno was built from scratch by its current owners, who achieved a lifelong dream when they acquired a private lakefront estate on the San Pedro Peninsula. The thirteen ample suites are decorated with French and English style furniture, complemented by select pieces of local artwork and locally sourced natural materials. Each room features a terrace with views of the lake and villa gardens. Relax by the indoor/outdoor pools or enjoy walks in the hotel grounds. Guests can also enjoy mountain hikes, kayaking, and other adventure activities. Skiing is also available during the winter months (July to September).

Cons

· No restaurants (other than the excellent hotel restaurant) within walking distance, taxis or a hire car are essential if you want to go out in the evenings

· Swish service but with a boutique, family-run feel – lacking the facilities of some bigger resorts, such as tennis courts, a golf course, a kids club, or 24-hour room service

· Overall design is more European-inspired than Argentinean, but it works beautifully in the context, and the star of the show is the spectacular views and surrounding landscapes
